Gabriel joined BFBA in 2007 upon graduation from California State University, Sacramento, in December 2006.

Gabriel’s practice is focused on the following areas:

  • Research & Development Tax Credit
  • Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)
  • New Employment Credit (NEC)
  • Preparation of tax provisions for several publicly traded companies
  • Preparation of business and individual tax returns

Within the tax department, Gabriel is a leader in the interpersonal development, training, and continuing education courses for BFBA’s staff.

Client Service Focus

Gabriel started with BFBA in the assurance department from 2007 through 2015 and has been with the tax department since 2015. He has expertise in audits, reviews, and other attestation services. This assurance and attestation experience provides specialized knowledge to his tax clients.

As a tax manager, Gabriel thoroughly enjoys helping his clients with tax planning strategies and strengthening the sacred trust that should exist between him and his clients. Gabriel oversees and schedules the preparation of his client’s tax returns, reviews tax returns, and represents his clients before federal and state taxing authorities.

Research & Development Tax Credit

Gabriel oversees the firm’s R&D tax credit practice in helping clients become aware of federal and state programs that have the potential to reward their daily efforts associated with product design or improvement.

Other Credits and Incentives

Gabriel oversees the firm’s other credits and incentives practice. This includes the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) and the New Employment Credit (NEC).

Industry Focus

Gabriel’s focus on the construction industry throughout his career has given him the ability to advise his clients on their specific, specialized needs. He has a strong accounting background, allowing him to help his clients properly record and report complex transactions. He is equipped with knowledge of the tax code and regulations governing tax adjustments for contractors, allowing him to help his clients defer income when needed and stay in compliance.

Beyond Work.

Gabriel and his wife Emily have been married since 2002 and together they have built a family of four children (two girls and two boys). Gabriel is heavily involved with his family and serving in the community. Gabriel enjoys archery, astronomy, biking, kayaking, hiking, and genealogy.
