Melodie joined BFBA in 2O16 after working at a regional firm for five years.

Melodie is a tax manager with a client base focused in real estate and construction, although she services clients in a variety of industries.

Within the tax department, she in charge of coordinating and developing materials for in-house staff training. She is on BFBA’s marketing committee and frequents SRBX, CREW, and ACRE industry functions.  She is currently pursuing her masters in taxation from Golden Gate University.

Client Service Focus

Melodie works directly with her clients to meet their evolving needs. She prides herself on being proactive, responding quickly, and developing close working relationships with clients; Melodie measures her personal success based on client satisfaction.

As a tax manager, Melodie oversees and schedules the preparation of her clients’ tax returns, reviews tax returns, provides tax planning services, and represents her clients before federal and state taxing authorities. She specializes in closely held businesses and individual taxes.

Industry Focus

Melodie’s focus on the real estate and construction industries throughout her career has given her the ability to advise her clients on their specific, specialized needs. She has a strong accounting background, allowing her to help her clients properly record and report complex real estate and partnership transactions. She is equipped with knowledge of the tax code and regulations governing tax adjustments for contractors, allowing her to help her clients defer income when needed and stay in compliance.

Beyond Work.

Outside of work, Melodie enjoys spending time with her husband Bobby and her two golden retrievers, Abby and Max. In her spare time, she keeps up to date with the latest tv shows, attempts home improvement projects, and gardens (mostly tomatoes!).
