His primary responsibilities involve oversight of client audits, reviews, and other accounting-related services. His particular area of industry specialization is construction. Craig began his career in 1980 working with a large Sacramento-based regional accounting firm that specializes in construction and property development and management. He also has worked with GT & R, a Fortune 100 company in their management consulting division. In this capacity, Craig, worked with dozens of national and international government contracting and manufacturing entities and helped in the implementation of accounting policies and procedures. While at BFBA he has deepened his commitment to the construction industry.

Craig has developed a niche in succession planning and has assisted dozens of construction companies develop a successful strategy for business continuation through ownership transition or through business acquisitions and mergers. He has assisted many companies prepare for and successfully consummate a sale to third parties. He has also assisted business owners in negotiations to acquire existing entities and has been a shoulder to lean on during the process of integration. Craig has also assisted many start-up companies in developing a viable business plan and has helped the companies in acquiring banking and bonding relationships, developing accounting policies and procedures and creating a platform to grow. He has worked closely with some of these start-up companies from inception as they have become large middle market companies in the Northern California and Nevada region.
He has also served as an expert witness in construction litigation and disputes. He has assisted companies in refining and updating buy-sell agreements and operating agreements which have helped his clients avoid major pitfalls associated with incomplete or poorly written documents.
Industry Expertise
Craig has made various presentations to local, regional, and state-wide construction organizations on various topics such as business continuity, the Research and Development Tax Credit, changes in accounting pronouncements and other topics related to the construction industry. Craig has also taught construction classes through U.C. Davis extension programs and the Construction Financial Management Association.

Beyond Work.
Craig is the proud father of five children and 17 grandchildren. He and his wife, Jan, love to travel, having been to Nepal, Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, Brazil, and other amazing destinations. Craig’s also an avid mountain climber, having climbed Kilimanjaro, Denali, Everest (Base Camp), and Rainier, among others. He is also a private pilot and enjoys flying his plane to beautiful golf and fishing destinations primarily throughout the western United States.
